How to Advertise within an RSS Feed?

We have an articles page which is essentially a list of reprinted articles that we are housing on our website. The articles page is in RSS format so that eventually people can be notified when we add a new article.

I would like to place a call to action in the middle of this page so figured I could advertise in my own RSS Feed.

Any idea on how I can do this? Sites to read to learn how?

Simply add a new <item> to the feed with whatever promotional copy you want. If you're generating the RSS feed by hand, open it up copy one bit of the xml from <item> through </item>, and replace the contents with your information.

If you're automatically generating the RSS feed, if you put in your promotional page using the same system, it should pop out into the RSS feed.
