Multiple categories in RSS

How would I go about including 3 categories in an RSS feed?

Do I simple add as many <category> tags as I wish?

<item>
<title>Item title</title>
<description>Item description]</description>
<link>http://www.link.com</link>
<guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.link.com</guid>
<pubDate>30 Oct 2007</pubDate>
<category>Houses</category>
<category>Kitchen</category>
<category>Kettle</category>
</item>

Also, where do users have the option to filter a feed by category? I use iGoogle but can't see any option to do so.
