I'm not a trained expert, so be nice if this is stupid.

Is there a list of RSS cacheing software I can buy?

I run a small portal system (~1500 users) for my company, and want to create a 'newsroom' page with a dozen or so RSS feeds. Instead of all those users making separate hits and pulls from each of those feeds, I would like my server to centrally pull the feeds and then point the portal newsroom to the cacheing system.

Is there a good set of keywords to google or a reference site that lists software packages that do this?

My db is SQL Server '05 and would prefer a java solution. Can't use PHP.

Thanks!

Dave

Hello Dave and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com].

From my understanding of a Java solution they generally run client side, meaning on the users machine, so every load of the page they would try and request the feeds of the sites you want listed.

I think you would have to set up an rss feed parser on your site that would cache the results prior to it loading.

There are many options with varying features located here [rssgov.com...]
