What version?

Currently have 0.91 but want to upgrade

Totally new to RSS so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have a feed working for our site but it is version 0.91 - <rss version="0.91">

What do I need to do to change it to version 2.0? And do I really need to make it a later version, ie. what are the benefits?

Also have an xml feed which is virtually identical to the rss file, just with some extra formatting stuff for the xml.

I have yet to see an example of an RSS reader that didn't read all formats of RSS and Atom. So unless you specifically want any features of the formats that are newer than 0.91 (such as assigning items to categories), there's probably no point in reprogramming your RSS feed.

I work for a major site which has had RSS 0.91 feeds for 18 months, and serves out millions of files each month. I've gotten exactly ONE request for an upgraded feed.
