Hi everyone,

I have a website in which i would like to disallow to search engines
my first page index.html This because there is a meta refresh tag
which wil bring the visitor after seeing a small intro animation
to www.mywebsite.com/index.php/home

I know that if i don't redirect the search engines the rest of
my site will not be indexed because there is this meta refresh tag.

So my question is: Is it safe to Disallow the first/root index.html
file or will the rest of my site not be indexed then?

As long as you manage to get links to subpages you should be fine, otherwise you might run into trouble as search engines can't find the subpages.

In general I don't really see a point why SEs shouldn't index the homepages as it's the page with most links pointing to and it's easiest to rank as well.

what if the page they have indexed is mysite.com/

would it matter then, if you disallwed index.html?
