I set up a site for a friend and quickly learned the danger of mailto: Spam!
I thought I had done my homework. I then set up a second site where all email links are javascript. Yet, it seems that site is being crawled and the email addys are being harvested with no email address available.
It's now on to .htaccess to keep bad stuff out. Is there a "primer" out there that will offer help on interpreting web site logs and statistics that will help me in understanding what I'm actually seeing? Some of the reports seem a little daunting, and I'm not quite sure how to read the log files to effectively set up .htaccess to keep out bad bots and spiders.
Thanks folks, for your help.
