Worried about profile links

In my forum installation, I have excluded member profiles using robots exclusion because I am worried about members linking to bad neighbourhoods in the homepage field.
My question... Is this enough to protect me from a penalty if my members do this?

Yes you are ok with profile pages. If you correctly blocked it that means the spiders cant see it and thus cant penalize it.

Of course this still leaves you open if people start adding urls to the actual forum posts.

Thanks.
I also decided to ban guests from viewing profiles, just to be on the safe side.

Indeed, I have an excellent moderator team for the posts... but I can't expect them to keep an eye on all the profiles continuously also.
There is also a 30 minute time limit on editing posts, so that old posts can't be altered to add links.

Yes, I would ban guests from seeing the profiles as that will stop registration spammers as well...a win-win! You are set!
