Well cpc isn't the only way of getting website visitors. Obviously the best way is free clicks from the search engines so if your site really is interesting and useful for visitors it will stand alone without paid ads.

Don't forget there are other more traditional non-web ways of getting customers. One of my businesses gets a surprising number of website visitors from ads on the back of delivery trucks that are always in the traffic in that town.

Apart from the main cpc players I've had absolutely no ROI from the more dodgy cheap cpc companies.

i have had luck with miva.com, kanoodle.com, enhance.com, iqseek.com, searchfeed.com just to name a few .. those are the 2nd tier players in the market! try them ... might pick up some extra sales like I did!

There are no consistently good PPC programs other than Google, MSN and Yahoo.
