Anyone have experience with miva?

Anyone have any expereince advertising with Miva (formerly FindWhat)? Are the results you've found just as questionable as so many others?

I wasn't impressed, I ran a couple test campaigns and didn't see any results and traffic looked fraudy.

They are OK in the UK. I can't say about the US.

I'd stay away. When a company has to change their name to try and regain previous advertisers and attract new one's - that's not a good sign for the company.

You mean like GoTo.com -> Overture.com -> Yahoo Search Marketing ->? ;)

When Overture.com became Yahoo Search Marketing it was because Yahoo purchased the company (Overture).

When FindWhat became Miva, it was because the companies stock was delisted from whatever exchange the stock traded on. FindWhat changed the name in an attempt resurrect a dying company(financially). Do the homework if you are not familiar.

From the traffic I saw I felt like they are just buying those mass traffic popups really, no other pages besides main was visited when normal visits might generate 3 to 6 page visits even on paid.

I am familiar with it, thus the reason for the smiley face, as someone who wasn't familiar with the different situations could jump to the same conclusion. I guess the humor was way too subtle for you.

I thought you were insinuating that the goto - overture -
yahoo name changes were for the same reason that FindWhat changed their name. I know there are FindWhat/Miva defenders here, so I thought perhaps you were one of them. Glad to learn that you are not one :)

I just pulled a whole group of campaigns off of there. Just cant get the conversions anymore and its way too much work to just scrape by. The low bids dont even justify the attempt must of the time. Stick with Yahoo, Goog, Kan, and MSN. you'll get everything you'll ever need from them for results.

I've been using Miva for about 4 years, and it and others are responsible for thousands of conversions and revenue.....As a matter of fact, for a while I was only using Miva/Findwhat and Yahoo, and getting good results....

My experience, is with any of the PPC, you need to track the key words. I put up 3 different pages, with tracking codes on the products to see where the orders are originating from, and then use a different PPC for that page.

My experience so far has been less than stellar. Over half of my "clicks" have been from non-english speaking countries. I querried Miva on this and they replied "we have affliliates in many countries, we do not allow geographical exclusions at this point." I am paying someone to visit my site that can't signup for anything! I am wondering, is anyone else is seeing this?

They have never limited ads to your specific country, and they never will. You are crazy to conduct business with a
company that distributes ads anywhere-anytime.

Well what if my goal is AdSense Clicks, not sales? Anyone have any experience buying 5cent clicks on some of these lesser PPC's and having it back out with AdSense that pays $1+?

Or in more simple terms, do these guys click adSense on the sites they visit?

The SEO in my company before me spent a lot on miva. I have since replaced him ;)

I've been using Miva in the UK for the past 2 years since it was Espotting. I've always thought they weren't that good but as the clicks were cheap I kept using them. Recentley though the spend has gone up 200% so once the money in my account runs out so will my relationship with this company.
