Conversion rates from shopping engines

Are you converting this type of traffic better than organic?

OK, I am working on my roi spreadsheet. We have big feeds up with shopping, shopzilla etc. I was surprised to see that i am converting these visitors at a little less than half the rate of my general traffic (mostly organic search). I would have expected the oppposite, considering that the engine had allowed the shopper to preview the product image and then compare my price with my competitors. I am getting ready to pull out.

Anybody want to share any roi stories from the engines?

Are you bidding at the product level or category level at Shopzilla?

Category level bidding will kill your ROAS..

Our you tracking ROAS (Return on Adspend) at the product level for shopping.com?

This is critical, so you can eliminate products that aren't meeting targets, and allow your overall ROAS to achieve target goals.

Most of the merchants we work with, do as good or better than Overture/GAW in Bizrate and Nextag, and most do as well in shopping.com and PriceGrabber....
