Any other worthy PPC engines besides Google & Overture?

I've tried Findwhat, Goclick, Searchfeed, Mygeek, enhance, and some others. All have produced rather dismal results, if any. Can anyone recommend some other companies to try? AskJeeves, Findology, Looksmart, etc.

Yeah, superpages.com. A lot of people don't think of them in this space but they are in this space.

findology = bad bad traffic. Advertised on Ask Jeeves and got bad bad traffic from findology, who seem to be in their network as an affiliate. Complete scam it seems.

Looksmart is practically a fraudulent click farm.
Same goes for enhance and goclick.

I have done very well with searchfeed and Miva (findwhat) though but I guess not everything works for everyone.

If your after Uk traffic, Mirago is good. The conversion is respectable and with the low CPC i get an excellent ROI. Almost as high as Adwords and even higher on some days. Also excellent support.

If your selling a product maybe try shopping.com.

Stay away from Kanoodle at all costs, the traffic doesnt convert or even stay on your site for 1 second.

Stay away from Kanoodle and Brainfox for sure. But Just because some ppcs like Miva don't work for some people doesnt mean they dont work at all. It all depends on the keywords you choose. For example if you bid on the keyword "spyware" on most ppcs you will recieve about 60% fraudulent clicks. I personally have used Miva and got a sale 10 minutes into my campaign.

At this time, only Overture(Yahoo) and Adwords convert sales consistently for my clients who are in various industries. Just ask yourself, do YOU search on the websites that Miva and others' have as their distribution? If YOU search on Yahoo, MSN, Google and AOL why would you pay to advertise on other search engines that you do not use? Ask yourself that question.

Out of about 4,000 clicks with Business.com this year, we recieved 8 conversions for .25% CV rate.

That seems pretty low.. How does it compare to the others? Here is a comparison for an enterprise software campaign I run..

Overture - 1.9% Conversions, $10.94 CPA
Adwords - 1.8% Conversions, $14.11 CPA
Business.com - 2.4% Conversions, $16.84 CPA

I've found the CPA to generally be higher with Business.com, but have found that it can still be a solid source of leads..

seth on google do you target only to googles main search or on content based sites in their publisher network as well?

I run both search and contextual for Adwords.. but I bid (usually lower for contextual) and track the two seperately..

Im guessing the search channel gives better conversions, but how is ROI. As you are bidding for cheaper on contextual, is the ROI similar for you?

Yeah... you can definitely achieve comparable ROI between search and contextual by bidding separately..

I would suggest you try 7Search.com, Pageseeker.com and Roar.com. Roar is a topics based engine - they have many relevant topics for casino and poker related sites. Pageseeker is the keyword search version of Roar. I do suggest however, with Pageseeker that you only select the best keywords as there bidding functionality is very poor. You have to update each keyword uniquely, so be selective - as you don't want to sit there increasing bids all day, particularly on such a competitive vertical. Roar has autobidding functionality available (I suggest you use it). 7Search can get some very decent distribution and results. Naturally like any search campaign monitor results carefully on a keyword level - and keep a close eye on your referring URL's and click fraud reporting.

I wouldnt trust 7search as they do play with spyware sites.
Their network also does appear to consist mainly of partners from Russia, Eastern Europe etc. The forums of these networks seem to be in Russian......
But I have heard they get good ROI from some. Others on this forum think the traffic is a complete scam.

Veoda = dead
Try calling up the number on their site, its a pay as you go virgin network mobile number. No traffic so why go there? They must get like what 10 searches per day at the moment?
