Pinterest Introduces Developer Platform

When Pinners sign in to your app with Pinterest, you can:

Build a personalized, curated experience based on their boards and Pins
Let people easily create multiple Pins or boards to get more of your content distributed across Pinterest

Pinterest has been anti-API for a long time so this is interesting. If this allows automated creation of Pins it could be very useful. However, they're very vague about what it'll allow developers to do. Has anyone looked into it further (it requires a login to get more info and I can't login right now)?
