I did a test with Pinterest. I took all thumbnails of one of my webpages (there's a web page with a full size image and text linked to each thumbnail) and made a Pinterest board with them.
Now, after 2 months, that Pinterest board with thumbnails and only and a few words that accompany each thumbnail (similar to a picture's alt-text) is ranking higher than the original web page with decent content. What I made was literally crap and still it is doing well (4th position in the serps for a certain keyword) on Google.
Who said that we had to create good content to avoid Panda?
Make a Pinterest page with thumbnails and direct them to your website. It might generate more traffic than when you spend days on creating good content.
