Emails to Blackberry

I have a couple of people here that check email occasionally while out of the office on their Blackberrys. It seems that while they are in the office and the have microsoft outlook open on their office computer the email will come to both Outlook and the Blackberry. Is there any way to avoid this?

What are the benefits for avoiding this? I don't exactly see one. To get rid of this, though, you should have a POP3 email account and when the emails are downloaded onto the PC through outlook they will be removed from the server (so they won't be seen by the blackberry).

You're getting the same email in two different places, once you read the email on your office pc then you have to go to your blackberry to delete it.

That makes sense. Here is what I do. I have POP3 to download the emails to my PC through Thunderbird. When I'm going to be away from my computer, though, I close Thunderbird (so no more emails are downloaded and deleted from the mail server) and then I get all my emails on my phone. When I go back to my computer, I open up Thunderbird and it downloads all the emails from the mail server (those that I was able to see on my phone) and now the next time I check my email on my phone I will not be able to see them. You have to play around with it a bit -- you'll get it, though.

Is there a setting on the blackberry to specify how often it checks for email?
