I only upgraded from v7.23 today and installed v7.51. Very nice especially considering it fixes the security bug.

encyclo I just wanted to add my thanks for the heads up there. It seems like a truly minor vulnerability they fixed, but I like to keep my Opera up-to-date.

Does Opera have "patches", or do you have to download the full version, and re-customize your layout/preferences?

You have to download the full version, but your preferences and customizations should remain after reinstalling.

Rather than applying a myriad of patches and still not knowing whether you are up to date, Opera increments the version number each time they need to patch. That means that you always know if you've got the latest version just by checking their site. Of course, the downside is that you have to download everything each time, which is not ideal for people not on broadband.

Luckily the file is only a little more than 3mb, so even for a dial-up user, it's faster than downloading an mp3. ;)
