Opera has launched Opera GX gaming browser designed to reduce overhead, allowing more resources to be allocated and used in gaming applications.
"Running a game might require a lot of effort from your machine. Even more so if you are streaming while you play," said Maciej Kocemba, product director of Opera GX.

I wonder why it requires a separate browser ... they could have included all these changes to the Opera Browser as well, but it' sure it sounds cool to say "I use Opera GX" like F-Zero GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Pokémon GX... :)

It's super lightweight on resources, which most browsers aren't as they are far more flexible.

I'm still stuck in Solitaire Land, so never saw the point. :)

(Though Doom and before that Duke Nuk'em were faves)

The last game I played was Quake Live (I think this is the title) when they made a free-for-all verison of Quake III Arena (may be it was playable in a browser, I don't remember quite well). Did try some more said-to-be modern Multiplayers FPS, but I am too old, and getting head shot before having the time to move two inches sucks :)
