request queued for sending to blah blah website
where is the jam??
the webserver or my isp ??
any ideas thanks.
I suppose if you have a lot of bandwidth you could try upping it.
i've done that and it doesn't make much difference
i think bt adsl is sometimes very slow.
If you've ever run Proxomitron, it shows the number of active connections to servers. Often, Opera will leave connections open for 30-60seconds after the file or image is downloaded. I assume this is per-http 1.1 specifications. That means if you surf alot of files in a hurry - there can be open connections waiting to die. That's when the "queued" message shows up.
Pumping up the number of connections should help in those cases (I believe a exit/restart is required). I have mine set on 12-24. That's actually 50% too high for the way I really surf (shift-control-clicking off 20-30 links at times) - but it helps that queued problem.
Do you run anything inbetween Opera and the net? Like a proxy cacher or filter?
erm ignorant question maybe but what is a proxy cacher or filter and what would the benefits of their use be??
i have run A4proxy server before but i'm not too worried about anonymous surfing so i don't worry about that any more
Theres an HTTP header filter "Connection: Close all connections (In+Out)" that closes the HTTP 1.1 connection, i'll have a play and see if I notice any difference.
