Special WebmasterWorld menu and sidebar

SuzyUK helps our Opera and Moz users

Those who have been around for a while will remember the special WebmasterWorld menu for Opera that Nick_W built. Well, the forums have shifted and browser technologies have changed too.

SuzyUK has built us a new version of the Opera menu, with an added PLUS if you want it - a sidebar that works in either Opera or Mozilla and includes the site's RSS feed. I've been beta testing it, and it's a joy to have these resources.

Thank you Suzy (and tedster for posting it)! I was about the fool with updating it myslef as an exercise in modifying menus. Now I'll have to think about a different menu idea to play with.

But now I can check out how sidebars work too!

the sidebars (my favourite) are easy photon and could actually be saved locally, the RSS feed page is the only one that involves script and was my first attempt at XSLT, which made an interesting exercise.. the rest of it was built using CSS e.g. it produces the title of the page (using the ::after class) and it controls the active link status.. as well as the flexi width stuff

Note: ~ There has been an update already (Flash/Shockwave forum added) for those using the Opera Menus you may need to delete and go back to the link to reload with the update if you want.. I'm at the mercy of BT ;)
I've added some notes at the bottom which will let you know if there's an updated version ~ it's by date, I'm not gonna go to the bother of version numbers just to add/remove a forum ;)

The sidebar will update automagically (unless you've downloaded it for local use..)

Suzy: minor typo in the sidebar-for-Moz. "Linux, Unix, an *nix like systems" - "an" should be "and" probably....

It really really works like a charm. It's fast loading, it loads the pages faster than a browser alone. It's a TRULY sterling effort!

Hmmm. How would one go about "skinning" it, to match say Red Cats (green flavor) which is my current skin; or Charamel (which I keep handy because sometimes even the one teensy animation in Cats bugs me).... Or is that something that you'd prefer NOT happen?

You ARE going to add the new Hardware Forum, right? Hardly fair that they should make you do an addition like that so soon - seems as if they could have let you know ahead of time!

The more I use this, the niftier it is. For some reason, until tonight I didn't realize that the sidebar would actually "be there" NO MATTER what page I landed on! How nice. Like stockings at Christmas....

Very nice SuzyUK! The side bar is very convenient.

A small typo I noticed - in local/private, "system preferences" is showing as "sytem preferences"
