Browsers symbol output is different.

Opera 6.0 & Netscape 6.2 display copyright symbol wrong.

I have a page with the copyright symbol at the bottom. I have the exact same page created in a perl script.
When the script runs, the copyright symbol changes into a diamond with a question mark in the middle.
Any ideas why this would happen?
IE 6.0 renders OK.

Do you have an address where I can see the page?

Have you tried using "& # 169 ;" (without the spaces) or are you using the symbol? The symbol is considered an illegal character.

I think Marshal must have typed: &-copy-; without the hyphens... That's Unicode for the copyright symbol, and browsers will read the Unicode and display the correct symbol like so: ©

(There's also a code using numbers instead of the word copy between the & and ; but the "copy" version is much easier to remember...)

LOL... I was wrong, Marshall actually remembers the numeric Unicode!
(for those who come to the thread late... the previous post originally contained just the © symbol, because the browser interpreted the Unicode...)
