Opera lost a scrollbar

I must be missing something simple. I've played the missing scrollbar game with Opera before, but that was due to a cheap Webhost adding a scrollbar="no" attribute within the frameset. Now it's happening before I upload to the server. Also, Ctrl + F7 has been checked and scroll bars should be showing.

IE and NN are as normal.

I thought maybe one of you might have seen this happen with Opera.

I use Opera as my default browser many hours a day. This is new to me.

I just checked my email and somebody else has been having this same exact problem. The answer: Nothing can be done about the missing scrollbar. Of course, I have a hard time believing that because I haven't had a problem with Opera up until this point. Plus, the bar is only missing until enough screen space has been filled to warrant one -- or when you expand the zoom to +300. It just doesn't feel right not having the greyed out bar when authoring a page :: There must be a setting or switch turned on or off somewhere;)

Do an ALT+P > Windows. Do you have "show scroll bars" checked?

Hmm... I can CTRL +F7 and if that's not checked, it won't come back. Sounds like something for the opera newsgroup...

Are you on a page that spans more than one page? Opera only turns on bars when it needs them. That's different than ie.

Example, ie has a dead scroll bar showing on the Google homepage, but Opera has none.

It just ocurred to me, are you trying to get scroll bars to stay on in full screen mode between windows and/or sessions?

They don't. It is designed that way in full screen mode.

Well, than that would explain it...

I had a background: url(...); repeating down the y-axis - The thing I didn't understand was the image didn't respect the space the scrollbar would usually occupy, throwing off images I had lined up...(only in Opera at zoom set to 100%). It seems to me that even if Opera doesn't show the scrollbar until it's needed, elements would still respect the scrollbars width?
