I am sure I am using the right username and password..
Also , in port field I have put 21 and logon type is normal..
What may be the problem?
One more thing.... I am using Win XP on my system and FileZilla is for Win ... Should I be using Filezilla for Linux since I have linux hosting ?
Thanks ..
I am not able to get past the message
'530 Login Authentication failed'
Try this. It strips the problem down to the bare essentials.
- Start->Run, type cmd or command, presss enter.
- This is the dos prompt. Type
ftp [domainname]
You can use "example.com" or "ftp.example.com", when using FTP it will resolve correctly in most cases.
- It should connect to the server, you should be prompted for a user name and password.
If your login fails via direct FTP, here's what I speculate the problem *may* be: if you created the FTP account using a control panel interface, these sometimes truncate or disallow characters (I've seen it happen.) In one example I use an @ for an a, it silently removed them. In another, it truncated the passwo.
