How do I make news posts on my own website home?

So I'm just recently getting into making my own site for our videos.

I want to make a news post blog type thing on the main page.

On Cpanel it says I have things like mysql etc. and stuff and installations. I installed a few and uninstalled a few in quick succession after seeing each one. All of them took me to new pages where I can post blogs on those pages. Which is not what I want. on Cpanel, it gives me two options for blog posts either using

* B2Evolution
PHP/MySQL Blog System

or

* WordPress
PHP/MySQL Blog System

either way, they take me to different webpages away from my home page. Unless I can do something with them so I can post news on my home page...

Of course I saw this one painful way of posting updates and what not having to type it out on Dreamweaver and fixing random spacing errors every time you press "enter". And it just looks really bad that way, and you can't seem to position where you want to type...

So..If anyone can help me out here, that would be great. Thanks =)

Firstly don't install anything form the control panel, it's usually out of date scripts. Download from the source and install that. Also be aware these scripts are going to need updating occasionally, if you don't you'll find yourself getting hacked.

If you want to use them as your home page you'll have to install the script in the root.

I just got wordpress...I think I installed it...I'm not totally sure. It says "Upload everything" in one of the steps. and I'm guessing it means upload to server or something? ...I don't know..

Anyway I did that. I'm still not sure how to put the thing on my main page though...

That turns the whole site into a blog if it's installed in the root. Is that what you want?

Well, not exacly. I just want to make a section of the homepage a type of news blog I guess. Where I can make a post on that section of the home page.
