My cousin's website was created using Kryptronic's ClickCartPro v5.1. and I am currently unable to contact the site's creator or Kryptronic to get the answers I need.

Our site is currently displaying an error message. Our hosting site said their server has a problem with the cgi script - it's too heavy.

I was wondering if it would help if I could create static pages for things like the Photo Gallery & Purchasing Policy instead of having them route through the cgi script.

I have been creating & editing these html pages through the software. The site's creator did some static pages such as the registration page, but I don't know how to edit them or create new ones.

I've been learning how to be her webmaster all on my own for the past year, drawing on the BASIC course I took over 20 yrs ago.

I just found your site in trying to find my answers & will greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you! ~Naomi

In extremis you can use Notepad.

No problem for "old school" html but it can get a bit tricky if you are trying to make sense of a css based layout.

hmm... if your hosting is complaining about your cgi script being too heavy, your problem may be bigger then you think. Making some pages static may help but it certainly won't fix the load problem in your script (trust me, I've been in that mess before). I would really recommend getting a programmer to come in and try to fix this AND at the same time, maybe even set it up so that you can create/edit new HTML pages through your software.

Dreamweaver and frontpage can be expensive and if you're just going to use them to build a couple of static pages, its probably more worth it to invest that money into a good programmer who can build you a custom solution to your problem. Good luck with your site, hope everything works out :)
