... just for this reason: Meta Description too long or too short

So if the description is, for example, 180 characters long, the page is excluded from index? Give me a break! Three dots maybe?

Anyway, how do you deal with this is the site has large number of pages? How to get large number of pages resubmitted? Or, will Bing do it automatically after meta description has been "fixed?"

Going page by page for the whole website is out of question, plus Bing limits this to 10 URLs a day.

Thank you

Just wanted to add a few observations. I haven't been too active with Bing WMT, so this is old news for many here. But, the main point is confusion. And here is why:

- For some sites I can submit 10 URLs a day, and for others 100, 1,000, or even 10,000 URLs.
- For some sites, it states pages CANNOT be indexed and the only reason is Meta Descriptions being too long or too short (same applies to titles)
- For some other sites, it states pages CAN be indexed (and they are indexed), and lists problems like Meta Descriptions being too long or too short (same applies to titles)

I have a feeling older websites earn more of GOODS, but still... too confusing.

I'll try to do some testing by fixing meta descriptions and then wait to see if pages are shown as indexed in WMT. Just for my curiosity. I'll share the results.

Cheers!

Ah, so it's not just me. But, come to think of it, in my case they claimed many pages’ <title> was too short.

Oh, yes.

Meta descriptions on many pages are too short. Lengthen to provide better context.

Many of your page titles are too short. Lengthen them to improve search visibility.
where their recommended length is at least twice what would fit into an average tab, which is the only place a title is displayed.* Is it possible they’re mixing up <title> and <h1>? (Come to think of it, they're also unhappy about my general lack of <h1>. There's a reason, but I can't be bothered to explain it.)

To say nothing of
The <img> tag does not have an ALT attribute defined.
Uhm, yeah, an empty <alt> is recommended practice when an image is purely decorative. In fact I’m surprised they only found two pages to complain about.

And
Missing or undiscovered sitemap.
That would be the sitemap I intentionally removed ages ago because there is absolutely nothing hard-to-find on the site.

At least they don't have the nerve to call one site's front page a “soft 404”, as G once did.

Edit: I searched on bing for one of the offending pages, and it came right up. In fact my search produced several pages on the same site, all happily bouncing around the top of the SERP. If I followed all their recommendations, would the pages float off the top of my browser window?

* They would certainly have fits if they could see my test site, where the titles are all--by design--things like “Untitled” or “new page”.

Bing limits this to 10 URLs a day.

You can use IndexNow [ [indexnow.org...] ] that Microsoft supports to submit 10 000 URLs / day , this should make BingBot visit these pages faster.
