As we move closer to Bing taking over Yahoo! search I would like to ask, beg, and even plead for one thing.
Please save the Yahoo! Site Explorer

This is a critical tool for webmasters. It is the best free method for webmasters to be able to do link research online.

Yes, there are two paid alternatives that are quite good. I have tested and reviewed both of them. But most webmasters do not yet know about them and not all webmasters will be able to pay for these services.

It will be chaos if Yahoo! Site Explorer is shut down before Bing provides an alternative. The webmasters at the top of the pyramid will not be hurt but the vast majority of webmasters will be. They won't know how to identify quality websites to partner with. This will lead to many scams and misinformation.

I really am thankful with the many cool things Bing has already done. Bing cashback is a the best thing for web users since the browser was created. I also appreciate your improved privacy handling. I need to be greedy and ask for one more thing.

When Byng! goes live, please don't kill the last free lifeline for webmasters.

Do you agree or disagree with my plea to Bing?

Good point. Bing has no link tool, and Yahoo's is better than Google's, so at least in this small way Bing can clearly be better than Google by keeping the Yahoo functionality.

Yes, please save this tool!

I use site explorer often when deciding if I want to link to a site or not.

MSN Search used to have a similar backlink listing capability to Yahoo Site Explorer, but it was discontinued.

However, you can still see a list of backlinks that Microsoft has found if you register your site with Microsoft Tools,
