Bill Gates has stepped down from Microsoft's board of directors to concentrate his activities on philanthropy.
He will continue to serve as Technology Advisor to CEO Satya Nadella and other leaders in the company.

On June 27, 2008, Gates transitioned out of a day-to-day role in the company to spend more time on his work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He served as Microsoft’s chairman of the board until February 4, 2014.

What kind of retirement trinket does the second richest man in the world get?

Gates, colorful character, who has done so much for tech over a 45 year period, does deserve a thank you for many things, and those who want to curse him, please do so in the foyer.

Seriously, Bill did many great things, a few not so great, and I personally wish him the best with his new endeavors.
