At its Windows 10 event today Microsoft launched Hololens, an untethered holographic headset for Windows 10.

I saw the video and was really excited about the technology, and the headset Microsoft has developed. It looks sleek and exciting.

Here's a few pictures of it, and a link to wired's hands-on review. [wired.com...]

I found the Microsoft site, for the product, which is now online.

You have to see the video, it's really great, and the demo I saw showed it worked.

This is either going to be a game changer for computing or a complete flop. Hard to say now, but I'd love to get a chance to try it.

Not sure if you saw the live demo, Bill, but it really looked impressive. The imagery and smoothness puts other similar systems to shame.

I can see so many applications for this product.

This is G glass the way it should have been, instead of a "get all yer stuff and the little dog, too" kind of borg suck.

MS, bless their greedy little heart, does TRY to do right for the user (most of the time!).

If this thing does appear and does function as advertised, it is curtains for Google. It would definitely be a game changer. The big problem with Google Glass was that it was a dork's idea for other dorks. There was no real function. It didn't enable one to do anything much. Hololens, if it ever appears, enables people to break the limitations of the monitor/display device.
