Today we are pleased to announce that SkyDrive will soon become OneDrive.Microsoft To Rename SkyDrive to OneDrive [blog.onedrive.com]
Why OneDrive? We know that increasingly you will have many devices in your life, but you really want only one place for your most important stuff.
For current users of either SkyDrive or SkyDrive Pro, you’re all set. The service will continue to operate as you expect and all of your content will be available on OneDrive and OneDrive for Business respectively as the new name is rolled out across the portfolio.

One Drive to rule them all, One Drive to find them,
One Drive to bring them all and without Google bind them.

(apologies to the Tolkein estate)

The rename was expected after the BSkyB lawsuit, but this campaign makes it sound like there will be something more than just a simple name change.
