Microsoft, MediaCart Holdings and Wakefern Food are working on new technology to deliver personalised ads to shoppers through computerised shopping trolleys.
MediaCarts have been tested for nine months by Wakefern in its ShopRite stores in the US and involve shopping trolleys with computerised screens that deliver ads and other information to shoppers based on their preferences, the companies said.
