Interesting it's Apple doing this. Clearly, it wants to retain its edge over Android.

This is a wise move for them since Android has been doing so well in the competition for quite some time now.

Group Think (being facetious!) is a good way to keep the coders in the enclosure. Actually, seminars such as this do cut to the chase of what is desired/expected of coders for the end product (app store). By codifying what is acceptable there will be fewer problems down the line. Good move on Apple's part.
