This is another example of Windows causing productivity issues: Windows Modules Installer Worker - 100% CPU and or disk usage.
This is a known problem, yet Microsoft appears to be doing nothing about resolving it.

Is it just me that thinks that Microsoft is self destructing its Windows 10 operating system.

Nah, others think that too.

But it's not a deal killer, yet as this is not a normal error or affects everyone alike.

Have i misunderstood you: This affect just about everyone as it's to do with Windows updating! True, not every machine is impacted the same, but it's a common problem unresolved by Microsoft since Win 8.

The general trend for Windows to get beating is deserved, imho.

If it was every machine since Win8 there'd have been no Win10

Not everyone has winupdate problems!

True, not everyone has problems, but you miss the point.
Every machine is affected by the update, unless you have it turned off.

I have researched this and the fact is it has been going on for years, and not fixed by Microsoft.

2014 Win 8.1 [answers.microsoft.com...]

More recent 2017 Win 10 [answers.microsoft.com...]

MS doesn't appear to be addressing these challenges many people face, and it's not the only problem of Microsoft's programs hogging resources.
Don't misunderstand me, other programs do this, too.

Let me give you another example of something solved. Not MS, but another software company. They addressed and issue of the program hogging resources and offered a fix, which works. The fix is as simple as a toggle to choose to operate the program when the the CPU is idle, or not. Simples!

Microsoft should be better than this.

In a perfect world there would be no issues.

We can only hope! :)
