I got my laptops in, yay! For those that don't know, I ordered a Dell Inspiron 7000 Black Edition 2-in-1 with Windows 10... 16G of RAM and what appears to be an Intel 10th Gen i7 2.3GHz CPU. I also got two 24" monitors and a nifty docking station so that I can have an extended desktop, and was happily surprised that the dock lets me use a wired network connection instead of wireless :-)
So far so good, it's much faster than my old laptop... but now I need to customize it for my own tastes :-)
1. Can you guys suggest a way to get rid of the lock screen, but still have it turn off the monitors after X minutes? I can't seem to find how to do that. The only suggestion I found that sorta worked was to go to Settings > Power & sleep and set "Screen" to "Never", but that makes the monitors not turn off, either.
I poked around and found Accounts > Sign-in options, where there's something about "Windows Hello". In this section is "Require sign-in", so that sounded promising... except that it has in red, "Windows Hello is preventing some options from being shown" and I can't change the selection. The fixed selection that I can't change is "Every Time".
2. Now this is a minor irritant, but it's gonna bug me. When I go to C:\Users I have 3 folders: Default, Public, and 13369. What the deuce is 13369?! From Windows 7 I'm used to that being my username, and since I commonly type the path to files manually that's gonna be a pain to get used to. Can you guys and gals suggest a way to change that to my actual username?
