Some volume-licenced Windows 7 sysadmins received a "Not Genuine" message over the validity of the OS and blocked Windows shares following the latest Patch Tuesday update.

It appears the update wrongly reported with a false "Not Genuine" and Microsoft has asked that administrators should uninstall the update.
"Note For an Enterprise customer who uses Key Management Service (KMS) or Multiple Activation Key (MAK) volume activation, we generally recommend to NOT install this update in their reference image or already deployed computers. This update is targeted at consumer installs of Windows using RETAIL activation."

Case of "what we want you to do" has butt heads with "what users are used to doing". Will say that MS was quick to respond! And admins for Enterprise were put on notice. Few, if any, individual level 7 systems were impacted.
