There are user reports of files going missing following update of version 1809.
This is quite serious for those losing files which disappear from the user/documents folder.

We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809)* for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating.

*Affected platforms:

Windows 10, version 1809
Windows Server, version 1809
Windows 10 IoT Core, version 1809
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2019
Windows Server 2019

If you've downloaded it, the advice is don't install it.

I halted my updates quite some time back as well as reverting back to version 1703 - considered the most stable and reliable version.

Probably just a couple of clueless people who have trouble finding their keys.

I have one client that lost two databases and a half dozen spreadsheets. That's not losing their keys.

Fortunately we had backups so the loss was temporary, though 8 hours of work had to be replicated to get back where they were.

As present all updates are turned off.

I just installed the 1803 update on my Surface - no issues, just a FYI.

Interestingly, some of my files have disappeared.
Good thing I have a backup.
