Microsoft will fix critical holes in Internet Explorer, Edge, Office and Windows with this month's Patch Tuesday security bundle. Meanwhile, Adobe has patched dozens of exploitable vulnerabilities in its Flash player.
Redmond's July release includes 11 sets of patches, six rated as "critical" and five classified as "important." The highlights are: a BitLocker device encryption bypass, evil print servers executing code on vulnerable machines, booby-trapped webpages and Office files injecting malware into PCs, and the usual clutch of privilege elevation flaws.

All above is expected and normal, and NECESSARY so nothing new. As this is a regular occurrence it does not even justify a post---except for one thought that crossed my mind.
I'd like to meet back here next Patch Tuesday (or before if you're game) with numericals, both fact and projection, of the actual number of man-hours/years etc. involved in any single Patch Tuesday. Qualified as to time the system(s) are involved as we know ACTUAL human intervention is not generally required for this process to complete .... with the one proviso that REAL human labor to obtain work/income to cover expenses ala electricity, location, equipment, etc again re: acquisition of knowledge, food, clothing and anything else that is pertinent to keep that system(s) running is factored in.
Base parameters will NOT include XP as that OS is officially deprecated. Vista is a small amount, 7, 8, 10 will be the biggies, and the projected (or known) installed userbase that is qualified as LEGAL, not pirated (ie. not part of GWA). Looking for the sheer number of HOURS, DAYS, YEARS involved. Bear in mind that not all countries have the same median broadband speeds (some are still on ARGGHHH dialup! Not that many, but has to be factored in!) and the system(s) reboots (usually multiple) which DO interfere with Human Time.
Instead of overheating your spreadsheets with Adsense calcs, etc, open a new one and have some fun! And learn how a multi-billion dollar company talked us (Windows users, Mac folks have the same problem on Apple never mentions it) into wasting OUR time to keep their software up-to-date!
