Microsoft Announces FIDO Support Coming to Windows 10

Our current implementation in the Windows 10 Technical Preview reflects our inputs into the FIDO 2.0 Specification Technical Working Group and members of the Windows Insider Program can start evaluating it right away.

Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) Alliance [fidoalliance.org] is a scheme to allow mechanisms to work in place of passwords. It's essentially 2-factor authentication with a dongle.

That's going to be a useful addition to Windows 10.

I'm not in the technical working gorup for Windows 10, but I understand it's already there to evaluate.
