Is there a way of allowing just certain IPs to connect?

With Windows XP as operating system I expect this to be a home or office computer. Can you therefore add a rule in the router connecting the computer to the internet? That is more secure than allowing all IPs to reach the computer but let only some make the connection.

The IPs I want to restrict from connecting or attempting to connect to our router are remote. Basically, the only IP I want our router to even allow to attempt to connect would be my home IP.
