outlook 2003

when i start my outlook on my desktop it tries to connect directly to MS exchange. then i get an error message that says this service is unavailable. then i try to work offline to configure a new account and i get an error that says unnable to open default email folder. This happens every time i try to start outlook. does anybody have a way around this?

Sounds as if you have your account setup as an Exchange account.

Tools -> Account Types

i cant even get to the outlook screen to change this.

Then do it from the Control Panel

Start > Control Panel > Mail
