Hi all

Has anybody got any experience with Windows XP Pro x64, Dreamweaver 8 and classic ASP!?

I just persuaded my Boss to upgrade my machine to a Dell Dual 3GHz Xeon, 4Gb ram. Foolishly thinking everything would port over without a hitch.

I use dreamweaver and MS access databases to build web sites. Dreamweaver runs fine , but, ASP WON'T WORK because it seems, there is no support for it in the OS, just SQL server. I Tried getting the latest MDAC_Type and IIS SP's and still no joy. They say they installed successfully still not working. Here's the error message

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e7a'

Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.

Has anybody got any ideas or pointers to info about this. I'm using VmWare workstaion running the 32 bit XP Pro as a workaround, it's certainly not ideal.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanx in advance.

Bob

I know it should work as I have XP x64 and anything that works on II6 win2k3 should work. I think it is a configuration issue!

Try removing IIS and then installing it again.

Also there are a lot of results of Google for ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e7a'

Hi huwnet

Yea , i checked out the error message on google. The main thing I found out was that, as it is hipped XP Pro x64 only supports SQL server. I've un-installed and re-installed IIS numerous times, to no avail.
I've now installed VmWare workstation to run 32bit XP Pro as a workaround untill I find out more. I'll post here any thing I find out.
