The "personal" version of IIS is an optional install on XP Professional. IIS is not available on XP Home. If you've got IIS installed it will be listed in Administrative Tools, if not:

Control Panel -> Add or remove programs -> Add/Remove Windows components -> IIS

No. FP doesn't include IIS. You need Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro or Windows 2003 to run IIS. It's a component of the operating system.

On the other hand you could download and install Apache [webmasterworld.com] for free...

Ok, thanks for the help.

Just a dumb qestion: If i install my own webserver trough Apache or any other program, do i need to buy a domain? I read somewhere that you could use your IP as a domain. Or make one for free.

Theoretically, yes, you do not need to get a domain name. It all depends on what you want to do.

If all you're going to do is learn the skills on how to build a web site, then you don't need a domain to get started. You can use your IP address (if it's static and if your ISP doesn't have restrictions about running a web server- read their ToS).

Once you're ready to open it to the public and become famous, then you'll need a domain anme, more professional hosting, the whole 9 yards (~2.7 meters for thouse outside the U.S.).

Ok, i searched google for iis but couldent find anythig. You couldent give me a link?

I have installed Apache and configured the script. What do i do now?
It says i have to use the command: (bin\Apache -k install, bin\Apache -k start) and the apache service will check the scripts i configured and install everything needed to get started.

But all i can see in the apache folder is: apache monitor, start, restart, stop, launch apache service.

Is there Anyone who has installed apache from before and can help? It would mean a lot.
