Is this a virus?

I've never seen this before but I was trying to browse to a folder on my network and instead of seeing the files in the folder I see a bunch of smileys with their arms stretched like they are blocking me from viewing the files.

Is this a virus or does this mean that I have been blocked from the folder by a system admin?

Nevermind, someone put wallpaper on the folder. UGH

All those smilies are spyware & adware. Nowdays, there is no such thing as free. It always has a cach.
