Hello:

Im new in the Microsoft server environment. I have always worked in UNIX, but now Im in need of doing so in a Windows 2000 server.
Commonly I use .htaccess and .htpasswd to protect directories on UNIX, but I don't know how to do it in Windows.
Somewhere I read that you can do as UNIX protection style in Windows but I don't remember where I read it.

Any help i highly appreciated.

THANKS

You need administrator access to set folder permissions. Its not difficult, but you need to have acceess to Internet Services Manager

Web Site Properties -> Directory Security
