HTTP/2 is available for IIS 10 on Windows Server 2016 but there is no news about it being added to Windows Server 2012 and IIS 8.

I haven't found much searching the internet but does anyone know if Microsoft has officially said anything (either a yes or a no of adding support)?

Most people are guessing that Microsoft will not be updating Windows Server 2012 to support HTTP/2.

This really will be a bad move on MS's part.

I wouldn't be surprised that Microsoft would be pushing to upgrade to more recent version to have the HTTP/2 support.

With the information currently out there, and Microsoft's track record, this seems very unlikely to happen. Just another nail in the coffin, I suppose.

I agree that it is unlikely to happen but HTTP/2 is a big game changer and not some small feature. Server 2012 (and R2) was their flagship product until recently and is unfair to customers who purchased the OS only a year or 2 ago. I hope we get the ability to either upgrade to IIS 10 or receive some sort of patch for our existing versions.
