Hello everybody! As you can see I'm new to these forums. Found this site through a general search on Google.

I'm a mostly hardware type of guy. Network equipment type stuff. Though today this situation was just dumped on me. Which is fine and all...

So the situation is, our companies website resides on a virtual server that has iis6, win 2003 32bit, and a 2005 sql express database. As of today, the company upgraded their server to a full fledged dedicated server and has left me to do the migration over.

I have a few questions... Obviously. (haha)

This new server will have iis 7 and is windows 2008 64bit edition.
Is there anything I need to keep an eye out for or do special when I add the website over?

I've been given all new IP addresses for this new server as well and have found all the places I need to change on my network dns manager, router, web config, zone records and such... Question is can I have the old website running while this "new" website is up at the same time? Mind you it'd have the same url address.

I've got the sql database situation down.. Just back up the database, move it then set it up at the new server... Change IP's in the configuration manager.

Any advice would be helpful...
Sorry if this was posted in the wrong area.

I hate doing long post so I have put a few links which might help you in the migration from iis 6 to iis 7.
