How diffucult is ASP to learn

Will it take me forever?

I am about to get into learning asp and wanted to know how long would roughly take to get the basics and feel comfortable. I am comfortable with editing HTML at present, but I have never built a website from scratch.

I have a book that I have heard some good reviews about and it's meant to be for beginners all the way through to the more advanced stuff.

I'll have a few hours every night to be doing this outside my normal job and I just wanted to know how long I could expect to be a complete beginner for. I'm a pretty quick learner and determined to get cracking on this self development project.

Anyone got any good tips or tools for me?

You should go for asp.net , asp classic is obsolute

The .net bit is important and not for show, as to how long, well I dunno :)

Are you brand new to programming, or only new to ASP? That will make a big difference.

I did mean asp.net, sorry about that.

I'm new to programming so I was expecting it to be a steep learning curve
