Okay... So I managed to install IIS on MS XP Home edition, but I get the clearly common "0x80074002" error. I have viewed the MS info in the Knowledge Base, but I really can't seem to get much help from it. I restored my MetaBase.bin file, but it doesn't help... any clues?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, WorkInDigital.

Try the stuff in this [iisfaq.com] link. If that doesn't work, come back and post, and we'll try some other stuff.

Thanks!

That's the process I have been trying to no avail. Here's the thing though, when I install IIS I actually have no MetaBase.bin file installed in my /inetsrv directory... I have to manually add the file, and when I do, it does nothing. It even shows up as if it's not a supported file, and not in the registry. It's as if IIS won't touch it...

Grrr... :)
