Hi. I just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and Microsoft seem to have updated IIS as well. Great, I only just learnt the last interface layout and was quite happy with it!

I loaded up the IIS management console but I can't find my default website, or how to even create a website. I've been on to the MS docs but can find no basic tutorials for this. All I can find in the console is something about delegations? Please point me in the right direction, I'm a bit lost with it at the moment.

I didn't upgrade to Windows 7, did a clean install and haven't had any problems with the Windows 7 IIS Manager. To be honest I couldn't see any difference between it and the Vista IIS Manager.

Maybe the learn.iis.net [learn.iis.net] website can help you further.

Since last time I've installed IIS7 manager which can be found at:

[microsoft.com...]

For anyone else who may have similar problems.

When I said upgrade I did mean clean install (i.e. format hdd first). The IIS manager is totally different on my machine so I don't understand when you say you couldn't see any differences.

In the window there is the computer name as usual. I right clicked this to make a connection which seems to have been successful. Now I am presented with three options, "Connect to a server", "Connect to a site" or "Connect to an application", none of this was on Windows Vista.

I'm trying to just add a new website so none of the "connect" options seem relevant. Can you still add local websites with the IIS manager?

By the way, there is no default website present in the manager which may be significant. I've been into the windows components screen and added everything I think I need for using IIS and ASP.net.
