creating an intranet

My boss wants me to create an intranet and install it on our server....Unfortunately i dont knw much about intranet and how am going to pull this one of off...Can sumbody explain and show me the tools i need for this intranet.

It's actually quite simple, an intranet [en.wikipedia.org] is basically a 'private internet', usually within a LAN.

What your boss probably means is he wants a private, internal website within the network.

The only requirement for an Intranet website running ASP or ASP.Net is IIS (Internet Information Services) activated on the server.
