Prompted too many times

I recently copied a password-protected folder to a new Web site and tried to establish the same permissions. The password is sent via clear text. However, I am getting prompted multiple times for a password on the new site. I appreciate your time and expertise.

Did you force all files and folders to inherit the permissions set in the password prtected folder? It could be that some of the files/folders have slightly different permission settings, forcing an extra login.
