i was told by my web admins that we need a separate IP address for www.example.comm and example.com on our IIS web server?

is that right? i thought if we had www.example.com set up example.com would be considered the same "site" on the IIS server...

im just trying to set up a 301 redirect on the server, and they are telling me that we will have to possibly purchase another IP address...?

Tell your "web admins" that they need to look for another job, since they are not qualified for the current one. They are incorrect.

We have it setup that way (with just 1 IP address) for multiple sites.
